About the College

G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College, the pride of Kurnool town, is the brainchild of late Sri. G. Pulla Reddy, the renowned philanthropist and a great humanist.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh State, through its order No G.O.MS 259 dated 14th September 1984 gave its permission to G. Pulla Reddy Charities Trust to establish G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College (GPREC) Kurnool in the academic year 1984-85. The College was inaugurated by the world famous ophthalmologist Padma Bhushan Dr. P. Siva Reddy on 22nd February, 1985.

Since its inception in 1985, the college has made rapid progress and developed, not only in terms of increase in staff strength and students intake, but also in updating the infrastructure in the campus to cater to the increasing and changing needs of a modern technical institute. With the munificent grants from our Chairman Sri G. Pulla Reddy, this College has become one of the Premier Institutes in India.

Five kilometres away from the din of Kurnool town, the College is situated on a 27.25-acre sylvan calmness put into relief by the adjacent hills. In such surroundings, conducive to academic pursuit, the college has built up accommodation of 3, 54,282 sq.ft. The trust has already acquired another 15acres, which is contiguous to existing campus for future developmental purposes of the college.

G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College is managed by G. Pulla Reddy Charities Trust instituted by late Sri G. Pulla Reddy.

Workshops (29th, 30th December)

Sixth Sense Bots

We are full. Registrations closed. Sorry about that..

India's first "SixthSense Botz" vision robotics workshop designed by team ARK. In this Workshop, we have tried to interface digital world with physical world. We as an organization feel the importance of the real world. We all sit in front of computer entire day for our daily activity and one hand is busy clicking the things on the computer, then we felt to design something that can Interface the real human with the computer. We humans can see the things around us, differentiate between colours then why can't machine? And that thought leads us to design "SixthSense Botz".

All these days the participants would have used traditional sensors like IR, ultrasonic, LDR Sensors etc. which were used for sensing an obstacle or light, but these sensors where never able tell the robot the colour of the light or the type of obstacle present in front of the robot. In this two day Workshop, using a camera, the robot will be able to tell what the robot is sensing. The time has arrived to show capabilities to the world with empowering the youth of the country with non conventional workshops.

So ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEXT GENERATION WORKSHOPS???????????

For processing of the images, we use a tool called as MATLAB, which is widely used in industries. In this workshop, the applications that will be taught to the participants are as mentioned below:-

  • Colour Recognition Application.
  • Ball following robot.
  • Gesture controlled robot.
  • Gesture controlled windows media player.
  • Gesture controlled mouse pointer. (Demo)

Duration:

We conduct workshops on 2 consecutive days, each day 8 hours session so in total 16 hours properly divided into theory and hands on sessions. In the end we organize a small competition among the participants of the workshop so that the students get the real feel of competitive environment. Winner of the competition will be awarded with certificate of merit & other prizes.

Workshop dates 29th and 30th December. First just register online. After 18th December we will ask you to deposit the money to our college account (details will be given afterwards). After that, you'll get the confirmation letter, confirming your workshop registration.

Cloud Computing

We are full. Registrations closed. Sorry about that..

In the past, computing tasks such as word processing were not possible without the installation of application software on a user's computer. A user bought a license for each application from a software vendor and obtained the right to install the application on one computer system. Cloud computing differs from the classic client-server model by providing applications from a server that are executed and managed by a client's web browser, with no installed client version of an application required. Centralization gives cloud service providers complete control over the versions of the browser-based applications provided to clients, which removes the need for version upgrades or license management on individual client computing devices.

Topics to be covered in CLOUD COMPUTING Workshop.

Day 1 - Bird's eye view of the cloud

  • Introduction to the cloud
  • What makes a cloud?
  • Hands-on demonstration of cloud computing
  • Cloud Computing Service Models
  • Cloud Computing deployment models
  • Advantages of cloud computing
  • Challenges of cloud computing

DAY 2 - Deep dive into the cloud(s)

  • Cloud providers and their offerings
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Microsoft Windows Azure
  • Introduction to Force.com from Sales force
  • Server Provisioning
  • Providing Security
  • Backup/Recovery of data
  • High Availability - HA
  • Server monitoring and Performance monitoring

Why Us?

This workshop will be beneficial for students in following ways:

  • Workshop will explains the evolution of the internet into a cloud computing platform.
  • Although Cloud computing is still in its early stages, but the public sector is already beginning to see advantages. Firstly, the workshop gives a student an insight view of Cloud Computing along with practical implantation.
  • The Workshop will cover the fundamentals of enterprise computing, including a technical introduction to enterprise architecture.
  • We also provide our own Cloud Computing Handouts, which consists of all the Techniques covered in the Workshop.
  • Also the workshop doesn't end up then and there. They can contact the concerned faculties throughout their graduation or thereafter also if they need any guidance regarding industrial Projects and Placements.
